About me
My name is Julie Frey and I work for the University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning (also known as DCP). My official title is associate director of information and publication services, but it’s much easier to just call me the communications director or public relations director. I have worked for the college and the university since July 2003. As the college’s first communications professional, I have enjoyed the experience of learning about the work of our faculty and students and sharing the news with our alumni and friends.
About this blog
I am starting this blog to share college news on a more timely basis and on a more personal level. Instead of waiting until we write an in depth story about a particular project, I can chat with you about it right away. Also, I plan to reflect on current trends or news and how our college participates in those trends or how the work of our faculty and students plays a role.

About the college
You can read all about the college at our website, www.dcp.ufl.edu. But here is a snapshot:
DCP is one of the largest design, construction and planning institutions in the country with more than 1,500 students. Our college houses five disciplines: architecture, building construction, interior design, landscape architecture and urban and regional planning. College-wide programs include historic preservation, sustainability and the doctoral program. This unique make-up allows for interdisciplinary collaboration at all levels, including research, studio/classroom projects and service learning opportunities.
